Challenge & Approach
The Project
Smartshore has been collaborating with Hubble on this ambitious development. The application had to meet several challenges: integrating data from various sources (leasing companies, fuel cards, mobility cards), automating repetitive tasks, and making the solution scalable for future growth.
Technology & Development
The Smartshore team built the application with a modern technology stack:
Symfony as a backend framework for a robust and maintainable codebase
Vue.js for a user-friendly frontend with dynamic dashboards
Elastic for powerful search and analytics capabilities within large datasets
Kubernetes for scalable and reliable hosting
The collaboration follows a dedicated team model in which Dutch architects and scrum masters work closely with developers from India. This ensures direct communication and effective collaboration.
Results
The project was delivered in multiple phases:
Phase 1: Delivery of the first version of the Hubble fleet management application
Phase 2: Launch of an extensive new version with a driver portal, ordering module and various business intelligence dashboards
Phase 3: Integration with AFAS, Active Directory and various SSO solutions
Phase 4: Migration to a state-of-the-art Kubernetes hosting solution
Phase 5: Delivery of a comprehensive car selection tool (car configurator)
Recently: All Hubble data migrated to a modern S3 storage solution, resulting in lower costs, higher reliability and a shorter Recovery Point Objective (RPO)
Hubble has since grown into the market leader in fleet management software in the Netherlands, with integrations with all major leasing companies. The platform now serves customers such as Albert Heijn, Unica and Fleetkennis, one of the largest fleet management companies in the Netherlands.
