14 november 2025 - While the IT sector is struggling with a turnover of more than 20%, at Smartshore it is below 5%. CEO Jelke Schippers explains in HRMorgen how that is possible.

The success factors? Autonomy, employee well-being, and respect for cultural differences. Our employees in the Netherlands and India have the freedom to organize their work themselves, without fixed working hours.

Culture as strength

The collaboration between Dutch and Indian teams requires mutual understanding.

"You can't arrive in India and say: now you are all Dutch. You also have to become a bit Indian yourself."

Through intercultural coaching and a practical approach, a close collaboration is formed.

A conscious choice: establishing branches in smaller Indian cities so that talent can stay close to family. The result: zero turnover in India in the first eight years.
