For our Panaji office we are looking for a sr. DevOps engineer
As a DevOps engineer you ensure that our customers have a stable environment on which their software runs. You facilitate our international development teams and processes to deliver to our customers as one team. In addition, you will help us implement updates to the software we build in a fast and reliable way and you will ensure that we can actively monitor the software by means of logging and alerting. We don't like to do things twice, automation is key.
It is important that you understand at a higher level how software works, why we automate and that we only work with infrastructure as code so that you can make the right choices when setting up and updating environments.
Because we are not yet a mega huge company you have a lot of influence in professionalizing our environments, pipelines and tooling and we are not stuck in old and/or bad choices. We therefore work to the latest standard and would love to hear from you what the next standard should be!

We are Smartshore. We provide international hybrid software development teams. Our teams build custom online websites and web applications. Back to that hybrid international part for a moment. Not unimportant ... because ... Smartshore has two offices in India in addition to an office in Utrecht. Some 60 of our colleagues work there, with whom we work closely on a daily basis.

What exactly will you be doing?
In an average work week, you will do the following things:
Shaping our DevOps organization and processes;
Setting up infrastructure as code (we use Pulumi)
Configure cloud resources using configuration management tools;
Setting up CI/CD pipelines for our software projects;
Setting up logging, monitoring and alerting;
Supporting developers in using the tooling;
You will work in a young and inspiring environment where you get the space to work with the latest techniques.
What are we looking for?
You meet many of the following characteristics:
Advanced work/thought level;
You have affinity with software development;
You love the (linux) terminal;
You have experience with Docker and Kubernetes;
You have experience with one or more configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Pulumi, etc);
You see the benefits of Infrastructure as Code;
Keeping up with the latest technology is not a job but a hobby for you;
You are flexible and have a lot of personal responsibility.
Bonus points:
Knowledge of Elasticsearch;
Knowledge of Databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB;
You have previously worked as a developer yourself;
You have a sense of humor.
