Smartshore developed a complex digital media platform for the Reformatorisch Dagblad and Christian Network Europe. We use Strapi as Headless CMS including integrations with external systems for ads, the editorial system, payment walls and analytics software.

LatestNuxt2 has been phased out and will soon no longer be supported. So a Nuxt3 upgrade must take place.
When we delivered the website 3 years ago, it was based on a design provided by Erdee. It was high time for a new and fresher design. The Nuxt3 upgrade is a good time to implement that immediately. But before you can really implement a redesign properly, you first need a thorough and well thought-out design system.
The Erdee Media Group has chosen a new editorial system: Woodwing. To get content from Woodwing into Strapi, a new integration must be built so that content is automatically read into Strapi.
Strapi3, the headless CMS used by RD, has been phased out and is no longer supported. We implemented the upgrade to Strapi4.
In October 2021, we went live with www.cne.news and took charge of the website.
The RD website, was still running an old version of their digital newspaper. Erdee asked us to design and subsequently build the new digital newspaper functionality: (https://www.rd.nl/digitale-krant).
The Erdee Media Group was eager to launch an international, English-language website. bringing news about the state of Christianity in the world, especially in Europe - www.cne.news. We not only got to build the website but also design it!
In December 2020, we went live with www.rd.nl and took charge of the website.
While we were busy building the new website, additional work came in: adding site search based on Elasticsearch.
Following the results of our research, the Erdee Media Group asked us to build the new website based on Strapi as headless CMS.
The Erdee Media Group was not satisfied with the quality and speed of delivery of their newly built website in Concrete5. We checked this at their request and confirmed that the quality was not too good and that the choice for this CMS was not very convenient.
